Just had to check in to see if things were still here. This was my sister's idea pre Facebook. Since last visit I have had Cataract surgery on both eyes. Not real happy about it, but what are you going to do?
May have to have an additional surgery on YIPES! my good eye. The surgery is supposed to take away the glare and blurriness. After everything not going right the first time, I am just a little wary. But the decision does not have to be made today. I am doing a lot of close work right now, and will be every spare moment with energy.
I am inputting data into the Library World database, for which we have paid yearly. This is for the college library. I want to get as much in as I can before the January deadline when classes begin for the last semester of the year.
I am also putting data into the Library Thing data base for the St. Clair Shores AG library. This data base is not easy for a user to stay inside of, as it has a "search site" box, and that can get you into the entire data base, not just SCS. The site works well for me and for anyone savvy enough to navigate its corridors, and for me it lets me know what the library already has. I had planned to stay at this library because I had planned to stay at the church for a while. But one never knows. If for no other reason than being transferred to the heavenly kingdom, I need to get the books out of my house and into this library. Then I need to get all of the existing books into the data base and print cards for new ones that are added. Since the church will not give us more room, I doubt that the church library will survive but for its few users what I am doing is a good thing. In both cases, neither job is notable, but it sure keeps me busy.
So I am up today with my coffee and my heater, and not feeling at all like I have nothing to do. Work in itself can be an end.
Well, goodbye for now. I have to drink that coffee and get onto the work.
AN OVERwhelming need to write, to express, as I observe whatever I observe. Mainly an outlet for me, but if it brings you joy or thoughts please feel free to comment. All comments are filtered.

Good News
My friend with the cancer has been going through chemo after a massive hysterectomy. I was privileged to visit her in the hospital which was a long way from home, and just had lunch with her Sunday. She is positive in attitude, and doing quite well. Lost her hair but opts for a cotton scarf over the wigs that itch. There is a good prognosis, and through her therapy has had many opportunities to experience the kindness of others and pay it forward to still others in need. Another lady at our church has the same kind of cancer and my friend has been a good encouragement to her. Come to think of it they also share the same first name.
I have not been blogging much having surrendered to the Facebook social medium, but when I saw the December post when we learned of her cancer, thought I should give a positive update.
None of us are guaranteed to live forever on earth, but I am glad that we do still have a few more days to sojourn here.
